JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (SBG) — A Missouri State Trooper went above and beyond to help a "child who was in distress."

According to police, Corporal Levi Rawson responded to a call for a "motorist in distress" on Labor Day only to discover it was "a child who was in distress." But Corporal Rawson had just what the child needed, a big hug!

"This little guy was feeling ill as his family traveled and Levi had just what he needed to feel better....A Big Ol’ BEAR HUG!" Missouri State Highway Patrol posted on Facebook.

The heartwarming exchange was caught on Corporal Rawson's police camera and shared by the department on Facebook.
